Three letters to Captain Mills
The letters on this page praise Captain Mills for giving assistance to victims of the calamitous earthquake which occurred on 16 October that year in Wellington, New Zealand. Captain Mills was instrumental in rescuing many Wellingtonians from the disaster zone and giving them shelter on his ship the Subraon. His behaviour towards his own crew and his passengers was usually not as praiseworthy!
